Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night People of the World,

I am glad you have dropped by.

So what’s new?

Well having successfully jacked the job in, I have been rushing round like a blue armed fly getting ready for my adventure in deepest darkest Peru searching for the rare bear genus Paddintonus Bearus (sorus arsus), but taking in Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador on the way – but not  in that order!

I am heading off in 3 hours, via train, ferry, banana boat and arriving in the steamy tropics and the colonial port city of Cartagena.  I have 12 days to cross the Atlantic and also to learn Spanish – a challenge as it has taken me nearly 37 years to to learn the English and I am still at remedial level..

I have made no plan apart from leaving Bolivia on the 15th August, so I will see what happens when I arrive and let you know what happens.

I will keep  you posted over the next 4 months, giving you forensic explanations of bouts of tropical ailments, details of ‘run ins’ with locals and photographs and other media things (to be honest I have trouble with technology, so bear with me to get used to posting stuff to the ‘interweb’.)

Time to pack then and hope to catch up soon. Feel free to post your messages (ps these don’t all have to be defamatory or insulting..)  and I will try to respond.

Hope the blog is interesting for you,

Love, peace and all that stuff,

Simon/Si/Goldie/Goldenballs/etc
